Your Guide to the Perfect Afghan!

Welcome!

My name is Julie, but my friends call me Jules. I started JMark Afghans, etc. in 2005 to share my love of soft, cuddly afghans and ~ honestly? ~ all things crocheted. (Well, that - and I ran out of storage space!)

Let's start with the Afghan basics:

What Is An Afghan?

An afghan is a hand-crocheted (or knitted) throw or blanket.

Made from the same type of yarns used for sweaters, scarves, hats, and shawls, Afghans come in a variety of sizes, patterns, and weights.

Some Afghans are tightly woven, and incredibly warm and cozy ~ and heavy. Others are lighter, more lacy, decorative, and beautifully elegant.

We even have two styles that are handmade using 2 strands of yarn. These Afghans are double thick, soft, and oh, so perfect for winter nights and afternoon naps.

There are machine-woven 'items' available on the Internet that call themselves Afghans, but - as a purist - I believe that only those which are handcrafted deserve the name.

Why Should I 'Design' My Own Afghan?

Okay, we're not asking anyone to reinvent the wheel. But when you want a blue-and-brown Afghan, you shouldn't have to spend all day searching the Internet. At JMark Afghans, we think it should be very, very easy to get just what you want.

Unlike web sites where styles and color options are limited, we let you tell us what Afghan size, shape, and color(s) will make You blissfully happy. JMark Afghans doesn't keep an inventory ~ so no item is ever out of stock, and You never have to settle for almost-what-I-needed.

Have a favorite Afghan or Scarf pattern, but don't crochet? Let us know. We'll work with you to get it made.
(Afghan images on our website are examples, using our favorite colors or yarn we had on-hand, of the possibilities for your personal 'design'.)

We offer ten (10) Styles in six (6) Sizes ~ from lap warmers to bedspreads ~ and enough Yarn Colors to ensure that your perfect Afghan is hand-crocheted exactly to order.

How Do I 'Design' My Own Afghan?

Simply choose [Afghans] in the Navigation options (on the left) ~
- Choose an Afghan Size ~ From Baby Blanket to Queen-sized Bedspread;
- Pick an Afghan Style ~ Banded, Cozy, Lacy, Misc, or Quick. There are ten (10) options, so far;
- Find Your Favorite Yarn Colors ~ Red Heart and Caron have dozens of options.
Whether you start by choosing the perfect Afghan Size or your favorite Color(s) or a unique Afghan Style, there are only three (3) steps from beginning to ordering. Or . . . click on any photo and go straight to the Order Page. In 2-4 weeks, your hand-crocheted Afghan will arrive at your door.
