My name is Julie (my friends call me Jules) and I started JMark Afghans, etc. to share my love for soft, cuddly afghans ~ and all things crocheted.

Unlike other websites, we believe that, to give you exactly what you want, you should design what we crochet.

We offer ten (10) afghan styles in six (6) popular sizes ~ from lap warmers to bedspreads. Once you find the perfect style and size, we offer enough yarn colors to make certain that your perfect afghan is hand-crocheted in your favorite colors. Easy as can be.

Let's start with the basics:

What Is An Afghan?

An afghan is a hand-crocheted (or knitted) throw or blanket. Made from the same type of  yarns  used for sweaters, scarves, hats, and shawls, they come in a variety of sizes, patterns, and weights.

Some afghans are tightly woven, and incredibly warm and cozy ~ and heavy. Others are lighter, lacy, decorative, and beautifully elegant.

Draped over the back of a sofa or chair, a hand-crocheted afghan is a beautiful accent to any room and the perfect companion to a Sunday-afternoon nap. As a cover on the bed, you won't remember how you ever did without that soft, perfect afghan. The smaller sizes make an excellent wrap, baby blanket, or lap warmer.

There are machine-woven 'items' available on the Internet that call themselves afghans, but - as a purist - I believe that only those which are handmade deserve the name.

How Do I Design An Afghan?

• Pick an Afghan Style ~ Banded, Block, Cozy, Lacy, or Misc. There are ten (10), so far;
  
  
• Find Your Favorite Yarn Colors ~ Over 40 yarn options from Caron and Red Heart.

Whether you start by choosing the perfect Afghan size or your favorite color(s) or a unique Afghan style, there are only three (3) steps from beginning to ordering. Or . . . click on any photo and go straight to the order page. In 2-4 weeks, your hand-crocheted afghan will arrive at your door.
