Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Julie, but my friends call me Jules. I have been crocheting afghans for over 30 years - which makes me feel very, very old. Some of the afghans come from patterns. Some just . . . appear . . . out of the yarn.

A few years ago, I decided to share my love for soft, cuddly afghans. JMark Afghans is where the unique, hand-crocheted afghans, that you design, come to life. Choose from from ten (10) styles, six (6) sizes, and over forty (40) yarn colors. You'll not find anything like them anywhere in the world.

What Is An Afghan?

You've never seen an afghan? Oh, my! Well, let me explain.

An afghan is a hand-crocheted (or knitted) throw or blanket. It is made from the same type of yarn used for sweaters, scarves, and hats. Some afghans are tightly woven, and incredibly warm and cozy. Others are lacy, decorative, and beautifully elegant.

Draped over the back of a sofa or chair, a hand-crocheted afghan is a beautiful accent to any room and the perfect companion for Dad's Sunday-afternoon nap. As a cover on the bed, you won't remember how you ever did without that soft, perfect afghan. The smaller sizes make an excellent wrap, baby blanket, or lap warmer.

There are machine-woven items available on the Internet that call themselves afghans, but - as a purist - I believe that only those that are hand-crocheted can be true afghans.
