Feng Shui
I've heard about Feng Shui, in terms of furniture placement to (if I recall correctly) maximize energy flow, but I haven't really read a lot about it. A few days ago, I received a newsletter from Care2 Green Living that offered information about Feng Shui and the use of color. It's really quite interesting.
The gist of the message is that one wants to combine yin and yang (female and male) colors to enhance a particular attribute. For example, use black (yin) and either orange, yellow, or red (yang) to encourage good fortune. If you desire harmony and balance in your room, add accents in blue or green (yin) and brown (yang).
I don't know that this article is exactly a definitive work on the subject. It is, after all, quite brief. But it did give me something to think about and encouraged me to do some further research.
