Random Musings of a Curious Mind

Metal Pegboard

Do you know what pegboard is? I certainly do. Every garage, in my youth, had a wall of tools that included something mounted on pegboard. (Think tool-related TV shows and you'll know what I mean.) Made of fiberboard, they were never very attractive and it always appeared, to me, that they would collapse if too much weight was placed on them.

Well, now pegboard has grown up and grown some muscle. Today, there is a fantastic alternative to the old fiberboard - metal pegboard - which adds strength and style to any garage. Although, frankly, I don't think that they need to be limited to a garage.

Just look:

Many of you know that we have an extremely small kitchen. In fact, if it weren't for wall space, we wouldn't have anywhere to put most of our cookware. I've always loved the idea of hanging my pots and pans; with this kitchen I don't have much choice. Right now I have nails, not necessarily hitting any studs, holding up my pots and I hope every time I walk through that they won't fall down. I never thought I'd find something that looks this fantastic that also won't drop my cookware on my head as I walk by.

In the living room, we have a wooden wall rack for the coats that we wear regularly. It's bulky and not very attractive. Imagine: an attractive metal pegboard panel with as many hooks as you need - voila the perfect coat 'rack'.

Okay, I've also imagined these metal pegboards in my closet (I'm totally hooked! pardon the pun.)

Car Guy Garage, I'm sure, didn't originally intend to create something marvelous for the rest of the house, but it is just such a great product that I think it will rapidly move from occupying the garage to helping out everywhere.

I want their pegboards in my kitchen, foyer, and closet. But, hey, they're also terrific for the garage!
