Online Dating for Geeks
The Internet was, originally, the purview of geeks and nerds. 'Cool' people didn't bother with it. Well, all of that has changed with the growth of the World Wide Web. Non-nerds are now invading all areas of nerd-dom, especially online dating sites.
I'm sure that you've seen the new TV ads about people who were rejected by one harmonious site, urging them to get matched on another. Well, Joyce Dales can tell you that 'another' isn't any more geek-friendly than the original; although she did eventually find and marry Jeff Dales. Then, there's her brother's unharmonious rejection when he tried to complete an application.
In defense of nerds everywhere, the self-professed geeky couple and sibling launched, SweetOnGeeks.com, which offers a safe place for the socially-awkward to find true love. If you're a Trekker, history maven, Tesla aficianado, or DaVinci expert, this is the place for you.
Free for the first 2 weeks, the cost is a nominal $5.00 per month after that; although the intent is to make the site completely ad-supported in the future. Pretty cool, huh?
Where were they when I was dating?
