Random Musings of a Curious Mind

Binoculars

Three years ago, before Mark's transplant, we were out shopping and found what we thought was a great pair of digital camera binoculars. If you've never seen them, they are seriously cool - binoculars with a digital camera. There's really nothing better for hiking trips or sight-seeing, because you can bring any image closer for a perfect picture.

The pair we bought was great, as binoculars. Easily adjusted, even for this blind lady, and easily focused, we could see everything from the top of South Mountain - no problem. However, when we wanted to use the camera function, they stopped being great. We needed a personal loan to keep us in batteries and, no matter how still we held the camera, all of the pictures were blurry.

Now, had I known about the myriad of binoculars from OpticsPlanet.net, we'd have gotten a much better pair. They offer items from Celestron and Tasco, two of my favorite telescope manufacturers, so I know they're offering quality products. But the prices are what kept me surfing the site.

I couldn't believe my eyes! Every item I checked out was about 40% off - with free UPS delivery. And the 'how-to' information was a god-send. After ending up with one lemon, it's nice to know that I can get just what I want at a great price.
