Giving Up Bad Habits
No matter what anyone tells you, smoking is one of the most difficult habits to give up. Seriously! When I decided to stop drinking every day, I stopped. There were, of course, periodic cravings - especially when I was stressed - but, by and large, I just quit.
Perhaps, I'm not really ready to quit smoking - I don't know. For the last few days, I've been trying to break my smoking habits. I don't carry cigarettes when I drive, because I automatically lit one every time I started the truck. (Of course, with this knee, I'm not exactly driving a lot.) That first cup of coffee in the morning is still a bit rough - it always signaled my first cigarette of the day, as well.
I'm down to about one pack every 3 days - which is better, but not exactly quitting. Who knows? Maybe if I put a patch on when I got up, instead of firing up a smoke, I'd have more success.
Whaddaya think?
