Quotations

I've enjoyed reading quotations for as long as I can remember. Of course, I also read the dictionary for enjoyment, so it's all relative. But, there's just something about getting inside another person's mind, learning how they see the world, that comes through in quotations. Think about it - having read Ambrose Bierce or Will Rogers or Nietzsche, is there any doubt how they see the world?

Some of my favorites cover a broad range of subjects. It appears, however, that I have a fondness for sarcasm and dry wit. Hmmm? I wonder what that says about my opinion of the world?

I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. ~ E. B. White (1899 - 1985)
