Random Musings of a Curious Mind

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
...But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."

Doors Can Be Beautiful

I remember, years ago, that the most stylish homes were decorated down to the smallest details. Fixtures and furniture were carefully chosen to create a personal style or ambience. This attention was focused on doorknobs, as well.

Cut-crystal knobs and brass keyplates were not uncommon. They came in an amazing variety of styles and patterns. To this day, in antique shops and, sometimes, flea markets or garage sales, it's possible to find some of these beautiful decorations.

Because it is difficult to find matching antique knobs or switchplates for an entire room, let alone an entire home, Baldwin offers a collection of beautiful hardware to solve that problem. The crystal and venetian bronze knobs are just beautiful; as are the lever-style handles and door knockers.
