Ah LSU - Again!
Well, it's been a while, but we got to spend a couple of hours in the VA emergency room - known as the LSU (Life Support Unit). It was, truth be told, one of our shorter stays.
Mark was walking out of the kitchen a couple of days ago and startled Paka. (He's been a little jumpy since we had company recently.) Unfortunately, Paka scratched first and sniffed later - not realizing it was 'Dad'. Apparently, the claws hit a vein, because the bleeding was tough to stop.
In less than 48 hours, Mark's leg was red and inflamed - with blotches all the way up to his thigh. So, off to emergency we go! Two hours and 500mg of antibiotics later, we got home.
Needless to say, Paka is in serious trouble.
