JMark Afghans' Website Forms
Dear Readers:
I need your help.
As I have mentioned before, we changed webhosts and had some problems with our forms. I believed that everything was fixed - the subscription form works and the information request form works. (I know, because someone has been regularly spamming both forms!)
However, there is another form that may not be working. I've been getting blank messages, supposedly sent from a form on the website.
We offer a
Reminder Service ~~ give us a list of your most-often-forgotten occasions and we'll send you timely reminders, along with (if you like) appropriate gift suggestions. This, being the only other form I can think of on the site, may be the one that has a problem. And I am looking into it.
If you use this form - or any of our forms - and don't receive a confirmation email from me, would you please
let me know?
Thank you for your help.
And - to the spammers - please get a life!

We're (Sorta) Baaaack!
True to their word, our wireless provider got my phone back up within 24 hours. I was pleasantly surprised - for about 20 minutes. Then, I got angry.
For years, we have had unlimited access (through what they call T-Zones) to online information. If our phones could support the set-up, we could get to it. Once I cancelled and reinstated my phone, we could no longer get thtis access.
Don't believe the T-Mobile commercials! Ever since Deutsche Telecom came in - value went out the window.

Phone Change
Just a quick note to let everyone know that we're making some changes to the phone service, so I'll be down for about 24 hours.
Trying to consolidate the service and get rid of the 2 lines that the boys were using. Unfortunately, everything takes time.
Feel free to email if you have a question. Or use one of the forms on the website. They all still work just fine.
Talk to you soon.

New FaceBook Page
I've been playing around on FaceBook recently. It's actually a great way to keep up with friends, as long as they have pages. Even better, it's a great way for You to talk to Me - about JMark Afghans.
As much as I love all of the pages and sites that I've developed for
JMark Afghans, I think the FaceBook page is a great deal of fun. I just created a few topics for the discussion board and can't wait to see who stops by with comments and questions.
Even if you don't have questions, stop by and become our Fan, post a Review, or just leave a Comment! We can't wait to see you!

Rearranging the 'Furniture'
Well, it's Fall and I've got the urge to rearrange, redo, and clean-up. Since we have absolutely no room to change where the furniture goes, I started looking at webpages.
It all began with a music playlist on
our MySpace page. The silly thing took forever to load and then - much to my dismay - listed the same song 5 times, instead of listing the 5 songs I'd chosen. While I was fixing that problem, I started looking at the format - which hasn't been updated in forever. Unfortunately, I lost the contact tables that I had on the old page. But I do like the new look.
As I was cleaning and sprucing up the MySpace page, I ran across a template for
Random Musings that I'd started a while back, but never implemented because IE doesn't play nice. Flushed with confidence from MySpace, I decided to update this blog format. Foolish, foolish woman!
The Firefox version was, pretty much, a piece of cake. And I was congratulating myself when I realized that IE is never that easy. Sure enough - my little rearranging project turned into a serious remodel. It's done now, but until I develop magical powers - I am not messing with multiple columns . . .
ever, ever again! (lol)

Template Issues
My apologies for the current 'state' of this blog.
Apparently, I made a format change a few days ago that, shall we say, altered the way the blog appears. In an attempt to correct that change, I fear that I have made it worse. Which wouldn't be that unforgivable, if my Internet connection was faster and more reliable.
Sadly, it takes quite a long time to upload and test the corrections.
So, please bear with me. I promise - it'll be all 'purty' again.
Ooooh, we're getting close! (I hope) - Cross your fingers?
(drumroll) . . .
Voila!! - the moron {pointing at herself} has finally figured it out. And - no I won't tell you what I did to make the oops; it's just too silly for words.

CurrentCatalog.com
I am so thrilled to announce that JMark Afghans, etc. is now partnering with:
For years,
Current was my only choice for stationery, calendars, greeting cards, and personalized checks - to mention just a few.

They have always offered unique, quality products that appeal to everyone. Somewhere, on one of the pages in the online catalog, there is a notecard set or calendar or gift wrap package or holiday assortment that is just what you need and didn't even know it!
Here's just one example:
First Year Calendar has room for a 3 1/2" x 5" photo on each page; includes 12 birth announcement postcards. 72 milestone stickers included, also; 9" x 12". Second year calendar sold separately ©Morehead, Inc. Designed by Ruth J. or Bill D. Morehead
Imagine the joy on a new mother's face when she receives this adorable calendar, tucked inside a beautiful
JMark Afghans Baby Blanket.
Personally, I just love the
Pull Bows. Looped and stored flat, you literally pull the different sections out and shape the bow at the time you need it. No more squashed bows - and no more need for tons of storage space.
Another great idea? This
Lifetime Address Book & Stickers. Never worry about changed addresses again. Just write the new address on one of the included stickers and place over the old address.
Voila!
Why not add this Address Book to a comfy new Afghan? Make updating all that information comfy and relaxed.
Please enjoy shopping with our new Affiliate Partner. I know that I'm going to be spending a lot of time with CurrentCatalog.com!

Blogtoplist.com
I found a fun site for bloggers today -
Blogtoplist.com!
Blogtoplist.com is a blog directory that sorts blogs by their weekly score. A button on each blog records the number of visitors, with a second button allowing visitors to vote for the blog. One (1) vote is the same as 100 visitors, score-wise.
When a visitor clicks on the "

" button to vote for the blog, a new window opens with a clickable bar to record a vote. Every unique IP address can vote once a day.
The separate tracking button shows the number of visitors/votes received in the current week. It doesn't require any interaction to see the score/rank of the blog, which updates every 15 minutes and resets to zero every Monday at 00:00 GMT.
You should be able to see the voting and tracking buttons once this post is active. Feel free to vote and come back to see how "Random Musings of a Curious Mind" is doing - with your help, of course!

AboutUs.org Update
Last year, I created a wiki page for
JMark Afghans, etc. at
AboutUs.org and actually became a featured page. (Heck, I even taught the wiki-gurus a new trick.)
Since we have added products and colors since then, I decided it might be time to update the information on our page. Didn't expect it to be an all evening event!
It's amazing how much you can forget in a year, when you don't use certain skills. I think it took me longer to add the updates yesterday than it did to create the original page. Sheesh, how embarrassing!
Feel free to stop by ~
AboutUs.org/JMarkAfghans.com and check out the changes. (The galleries are fun, but the tables were a bit difficult.) All I can say is that it looks a lot better to me now.
Ooooh, before I forget. All of the images in the Afghan Gallery link directly to an order page on the website - no muss, no fuss.

Yarn Colors
As you all know, we offer several pages of yarn color options on the website. I pulled images from the manufacturers' websites, so that our shoppers can see what they're choosing. Obviously, the images are only as good as the monitor on which they are viewed.
I learned that one in a big way last month. My soon-to-be step-daughter-in-law (geez, have a hyphen!) asked me to make her an afghan like Frankie's, but in a purple-ish accent with the black. So off to the store we went.
After several choices that didn't have enough skeins in stock, we settled on what I would call a dark fucshia. It looks great next to the black and the 'new owner' loved the color.
I didn't pay attention to the name of the color she had chosen, until I started crocheting. (This is the actual link from
the website yarn page)

Rubine Red
Would you mind letting me know - if you can describe it - just what color this looks like to you? Because, right now, either my eyes or my monitor seem to need adjusting!

Ta Da!! Check Out My Calendar!
Well, I finally took the time to look at my silly calendar problem - all of the Fridays with posts had misaligned dates. Let me tell you - I would never have realized what the problem was, without setting up another blog and comparing the codes.
It seems that, when I cannibalized the original coding with the format from my other blog, I inserted a line of code right before the calendar that caused it to misbehave. Honestly, I still don't know why it only affected the Friday date.
I'm just thrilled that it's fixed!

Gone Phishing?! Watch Your Mail, Please!
Apparently, I not only
sent myself a message today, but - and this is the not-so-amusing part - I am offering an
Angelina Jolie XXX Video Free, as part of
MSN Featured Offers!
Although I may occasionally talk to myself, I don't send myself messages - and
I most certainly do not send anything to anyone with XXX in the title! Not to mention, I doubt
seriously that
MSN Featured Offers has anything approaching the sewage-level content of this 'offer'. I've sent the information from the email to
phishing-report@us-cert.gov and
reportphishing@antiphishing.org.
Rest assured, unless you are on the
JMark Afghans, etc. Mailing List or have contacted us directly with a question or problem, you will never receive an email from us.
Therefore, if you ever receive spammy email from an address claiming to be part of
jmarkafghans.com - please send it to the above addresses and let them know that
it isn't from JMark Afghans, etc.! We do not send unsolicited mail and
we do not spam!

Calendar Issues
Okay, I have about had enough!
If you've noticed, there is a calendar in the upper right corner of my blog page. I think it's great; love having it there. Except for one - glaring - problem.
When I have a post on a Friday, which causes the program to bold the date, the date drops down in the form! Aaaaargh!!!
If anyone can look at my code and tell me why this
one day out of seven has decided to have dropsy, I would greatly appreciate the input.
Until then, I'll just grumble, growl, and make unkind gestures at the calendar!

New Zazzle Products
After some time away, I have designed a couple of new items on Zazzle that I wanted to share ~
They share the same original airbrush picture, created last night, and a quote that I find to be very true.
