Crocheted in a simple fan-shaped stitch, this Afghan has an open look and light feel, but is still quite warm.

Unlike Block Afghans, which have panels of different sizes and/or stitches or Cozy Afghans, which are crocheted in two-pieces, Banded Afghans are created width first. The pattern is continued until the desired length is reached.

Three (3) sections, approximately 1/3 the overall length, are created in the primary color. Two (2) narrow bands, in an accent color, separate larger sections. This Banded Afghan has no border.

Red Heart's "Fiesta" yarns, with the nylon accent thread, their "Super Saver" Variegated Yarns or Caron's "Simply Soft" ombre colors would be perfect, paired with one of the solid colors.
