This JMark Afghans Style gets its name from the center 'block' that starts the pattern.
Additional panels are added to create the shape and size. If you choose more than one color, the center and final border are crocheted in your primary color.
Multiple colors, varying panel sizes and different stitches create the pattern.
(Unlike a 'granny-square' afghan where the squares are made separately and then joined, block afghans are crocheted in one piece.)
